Safe Boating Week: 17 May to 23 May

As boating season approaches we are beginning to prepare for another campaign to spread the message of safe and responsible boating. This year we are hoping to educate the boating community about life jacket wear and the options that are available when it comes to comfortable and lightweight jackets. We are also working closely with our partner organizations to create a larger grassroots network and create a more consistent campaign message. We are hoping these collaborative efforts will increase awareness about the importance of wearing life jackets while on the water.

BoatSmart 27 May through 31 May

Our BoatSmart course is an excellent way for new boaters to learn the rules and regulations necessary to operate a boat safely. It is also a great way for experienced boaters to brush up on new rules and regulations. When you are finished with this class, you will have met the requirements of Ohio's Boater Education Law and you will have the opportunity to become a member of the United States Power Squadrons. The BoatSmart Course is offered at no charge. However, it is recommended that you purchase the text book, which is offered the first night of class. This text book can be shared between couples.

BoatSmart is taught at the Strongsville Library. Here are the class dates and times:
Tuesday, May 27, 7pm-9pm
Wednesday, May 28, 7pm-9pm
Thursday, May 29, 7pm-9pm
Saturday, May 31, 9am-11am
